# Décès de l’ancien chef d’État malien Amadou Toumani Touré

L’ancien président malien Amadou Toumani Touré est décédé cette nuit en Turquie à l’âge de 72 ans, rapporte la presse malienne. Il avait récemment subi une opération du cœur.  
  
Il a exercé le pouvoir du 8 juin 2002 jusqu’au 22 mars 2012, date à laquelle il a été renversé à la suite d’un coup d’État, avant de s’exiler au Sénégal.  
  
En 1991, Amadou Toumani Touré a participé au coup d’État contre le général Moussa Traoré.  
  
Le président tchadien Idriss Deby a adressé ce matin ses condoléances suite à l’annonce de son décès.
