On Thursday 27 July 2017 Rear Admiral Rafael Fernández-Pintado (Spanish Navy) handed over force command of the EU’s counter-piracy ‘Operation Atalanta’ to Rear Admiral Fabio Gregori (Italian Navy) during a ceremony in Djibouti.
