Il s'est tenu du 5 au 6 février 2021 à Laï, le deuxième congrès du parti Action Socialiste Tchadienne pour le Renouveau (ASTRE). Le congrès a été placé sous le thème : "le défi de l'alternance".  
  
L'ouverture des travaux a été rehaussée par la présence du préfet du département de la tandjilé Est, Mahamat Abdoulaye Mahamat, représentant le gouverneur.  
  
Alladoum Djarma Balthazar est investit comme candidat à l'élection présidentielle d'avril 2021 par ses militants, ce samedi 6 février 2021 à Laï.
