Le général de corps d'armée Mahamat Nour Abdukarim Abbo Gourou est admis à la retraite par anticipation d'office, selon un décret du 26 juin 2023\. L'intéressé percevra ses droits de départ et sa pension de retraite.  
  
Ex-membre du Conseil militaire de transition (CMT), ancien chef rebelle, le général de corps d'armée Mahamat Nour Abdukarim Abbo Gourou a notamment occupé le poste de ministre de la Défense sous la présidence du défunt Maréchal Idriss Deby Itno.
